Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day

VBS is a lot like a 5-Day Club, except that we add an extra 30 minutes to the schedule each day for the children to complete a craft allowing the program to run for 2 hours each day for 5 straight days. VBSs are hosted by local churches or Christian organizations, where children are invited from the surrounding community to come hear exciting Bible lessons, missions stories, play fun games, sing Christ-centered songs and learn verses from the Bible.

Some VBSs have hosted up to 50 children during the week. CYIA Summer Missionaries lead nearly all portions of VBS, in cooperation with the VBS Coordinator, provided by the host. The host also provides a Craft Coordinator to lead the children in each day’s craft. At craft time, the CYIA Summer Missionaries step back from leadership by simply encouraging and helping the children as they complete their crafts.

The week culminates with special Water Day activities on Friday.

How Can I Get Involved?

There are several opportunities to be involved with a Good News Club. You can pray for the children and teachers in the club. Become a club teacher or helper by contacting your local chapter and asking about training and opportunities.
