Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day

Camp Good News®

Camp Good News is our biggest program in which children are invited to attend a week of day-long camp at a local church or Christian organization where they will hear exciting Bible Lessons, captivating missions stories, learn Bible verses, spend time doing daily devotions, have snacks, sing lots of songs, play lots of games in small and large groups, have lunch and do a daily craft. Camp Good News runs Monday through Friday, for 6 hours each day.

CYIA Summer Missionaries are responsible for a large portion of the leadership and teaching of this program, in cooperation with the Camp Director, Craft Coordinator and volunteer Small Group Leaders, who are all provided by the host. The camp week culminates on Friday with a fun Family Picnic and as with all our summer ministries, special Water Day activities! In true camp fashion, Water Day includes giant water slides and other organized water games.

Each year there is a new theme for camp (think Safari, Outpost Camp, Guided by God, etc.) There are typically 20-40 children in attendance. Children are separated into teams, based on animals that coincide with the camp theme. Throughout the week, teams compete for points and Missions offering collected. The team with the most points and the most Missions money at the end of the week gets to choose one CYIA Summer Missionary to get a pie in the face on Friday, during the Family Picnic. Families are invited to the Friday picnic where the campers put on a short program, showing some of the things they’ve learned throughout the week.

How Can I Get Involved?

There are several opportunities to be involved with a Good News Club. You can pray for the children and teachers in the club. Become a club teacher or helper by contacting your local chapter and asking about training and opportunities.
